MetaMask Scam

Good morning! We are having a double dose of Fraud Fridays as we talk about a current email phishing scam being sent out.

This is the MetaMask Scam, which is not only a phishing scam, but also a crypto scam. These emails claim to be from MetaMask, a software crypto currency wallet used to interact with the Ethereum Blockchain. In these emails, they will allege that all customers must verify their wallets to continue use-of-service. This is simply untrue. Clicking on the "Verify your wallet" button will bring you to a website entirely made to steal your information. This information will range from your SSN to your wallet passwords. This is in an attempt to access your Metamask wallet and transfer your funds to their wallet or an intermediary.

If you receive an email "from MetaMask" claiming that you have to Verify your Wallet, please ignore this email. If you are a MetaMask user, and are still concerned, try to log into your MetaMask account by going directly to their website or mobile app. For everyone involved with Crypto, NEVER give out your Seed Phrase or Private Key to anyone! For everyone not involved with Crypto Currencies, the same goes for your PINs (Personal Identification Number). Keep them personal and private!
